4CH SETUP FOR AMBIENCE RECORDING
The “ORTF Surround” recording method is a system for the pickup of surround ambience. This microphone arrangement and its sonic characteristics are quite similar to those of the well-known “IRT Cross“ designed by Günther Theile.
"ORTF Surround" is designed as part of the SCHOEPS ORTF series for 5.1 surround applications. It is often used as the main ambience microphone in the football arena.
